On the front, as can be seen in the main photograph, the pieces feature formidable clusters of pointy scalenohedral calcite crystals ("dogtooth"). These crystals are coated with a vibrant layer of oxidized minerals in intense orange tones.
However, the great geological surprise of this lot is found on its reverse side. As our detailed macro photographs reveal, the grayish matrix hosts beautiful veins and inclusions of deep purple Fluorite. The fluorite crystals exhibit their classic cubic and stepped forms, creating a dramatic contrast in both color (orange vs. purple) and geometry (scalenohedral points vs. cubes) on a single matrix.
